Apprentice Electrical Design Engineer
UK wide. We are looking for Design Apprentices across Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Sunbury.
To get on this prestigious apprenticeship programme we require 5's, National 5's or C's in your GCSE English and Maths. Please include your certificates in your application alongside your UK Driving licence. Ready to design your future?
Join Johnson Controls and dive into the world of fire and security system technology! We're talking all the cool systems that keep people safe. You'll learn how to design these complex electrical systems from day one. What You'll Be Up To:
- You will join the design department that specializes in creating fire and security systems for industrial, commercial, and residential markets.
- An experienced design engineer will guide you, teaching you the fundamentals of design engineering.
- You will familiarise yourself with tools like AutoCAD, Revit 3D modelling, and other design-specific software to gain direct experience in system design.
- This apprenticeship is a highly technical role where you'll create detailed designs and calculations for various fire and security systems, complying with industry and legislative standards.
- You will visit client locations, collaborate with colleagues to conduct surveys, and develop design plans based on the gathered information.
- This role will require travel to clients on a national basis occasionally. The company will cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and meals.

Level 3 Engineering Design Technician
Mix of college learning and hands-on mentoring. College is day release, done remotely What You'll Need:
GCSEs in English & Maths-Grade 5 (C) or above
Full UK driving licence
Ability to pass SC Clearance
Happy to travel, work away and stay over in hotels when needed
