Monarch Education is seeking an enthusiastic and committed QTS English Teacher for an immediate start at a secondary school based in Birmingham (B28) . This is a full‑time, long‑term opportunity within a supportive and forward‑thinking English department, ideal for a passionate teacher looking to make an immediate impact.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and purposeful English lessons across KS3 and KS4 , supporting strong progress in English Language and Literature .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality English Language and Literature lessons that engage and challenge pupils
• Assess and monitor student progress through classwork, homework, assessments, and constructive feedback
• Develop and contribute to schemes of work that promote differentiation and stretch learners of all abilities
• Create a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages discussion, creativity, and critical thinking
• Use a variety of teaching approaches and digital resources to enhance learning and engagement
• Contribute to departmental planning , curriculum development, and whole‑school initiatives
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support academic and pastoral development
• Engage in CPD and professional development to continuously improve teaching practice

Skills and Qualifications

• A relevant English degree or closely related subject
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Experience teaching secondary English (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE assessment requirements
• Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
• Ability to differentiate effectively to support a range of learning needs
• Confidence using educational technology and creative teaching strategies
