About the Role

As Site Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the management, safety, and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds. You will oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure the premises remain safe, functional, and welcoming.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the daily operation and maintenance of the school site and facilities

• Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks

• Overseeing site security, including opening and closing the school

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and risk assessments

• Managing contractors and coordinating maintenance work when required

• Monitoring heating, lighting, alarms, and security systems

• Supporting the preparation of spaces for school events and activities

• Maintaining outdoor areas including playgrounds and access routes

• Keeping accurate records of maintenance work and site inspections

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience in site management, premises management, or facilities maintenance

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of health and safety procedures and compliance

• Be practical, organised, and capable of managing a range of maintenance tasks

• Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

• Communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and external services

• Be reliable, flexible, and committed to maintaining high standards across the school site

Previous experience working within a school environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
