Speech and Language Therapist
Conduct comprehensive developmental history interviews with parents, carers and/or individuals as part of the autism diagnostic process.
Gather and synthesise information from clinical interviews, questionnaires, behavioural observations and collateral information where available.
Use clinical judgement and professional expertise to contribute to diagnostic formulation using recognised frameworks such as DSM-5 / ICD-11.
Produce high-quality clinical reports summarising assessment findings and supporting diagnostic decisions.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation on the clinical platform.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including psychologists, psychiatrists and other allied health professionals involved in the diagnostic pathway.
Communicate sensitively and effectively with patients, families and carers throughout the assessment process.
Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with established procedures.
Participate in MDT case discussions and contribute to diagnostic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of autism assessment practice and participate in relevant professional development. Essential Requirements Degree or postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
Formal training in ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised).
Demonstrable experience conducting autism or neurodevelopmental assessments.
Strong clinical report writing skills.
Experience working within multidisciplinary diagnostic teams.
Ability to deliver assessments via remote or digital clinical platforms. Desirable Experience Training or experience in additional autism assessment tools such as ADOS-2, 3Di or DISCO.
Experience working in CAMHS, adult autism services, or neurodevelopmental pathways.
Experience conducting remote diagnostic assessments. What We Offer £60,000 annual salary
