Energy & Resource Management Projects Associate/Senior Associate | 5+ PQE | National Practice | Hybrid Working | Birmingham BCL Legal is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an Energy & Resource Management (ERM) Projects Associate/Senior Associate (5+ PQE) to join a leading national law firm's rapidly growing and highly regarded Energy and Resource Management team in Birmingham. This is a unique chance to work on some of the most dynamic and high-profile projects in the UK's energy and sustainability sectors, playing an integral role in the country's transition to net zero. The team works on cutting-edge infrastructure developments across a wide range of areas, including energy-from-waste, decarbonisation, hydrogen, carbon capture, district heat networks, and more. The team is well-regarded across legal directories for its expertise in energy, project finance, and PFI/PPP, and offers a collaborative and inclusive environment with excellent prospects for professional growth. The Role In this role, you will advise on complex, high-value energy and infrastructure projects, focusing on the delivery and procurement of innovative Energy and Resource Management projects. You will work closely with both public and private sector clients, playing a key role in the UK's decarbonisation agenda. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading on the procurement and delivery of major ERM projects in collaboration with clients and senior partners.
• Advising on and negotiating complex commercial contracts related to energy and infrastructure.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, particularly with public sector bodies and private developers.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Playing an active role in business development, supporting the continued growth of the practice.

Candidate Profile We are seeking individuals who possess:

• 5+ years PQE, with a background in commercial contracts, project finance, construction, or infrastructure.
• Strong technical legal skills with the ability to deliver pragmatic, commercial advice.
• Proven experience working on complex infrastructure projects, ideally within the energy, decarbonisation, or sustainability sectors.
• A genuine enthusiasm for the energy sector and the UK's net zero ambitions.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
• Experience in mentoring junior colleagues and supporting their development.

While direct experience in energy or resource management is preferred, the team is open to candidates from various backgrounds, including projects, construction, and commercial law, who are passionate about the sector. What's On Offer
