Corporate Tax Senior Manager - Birmingham

You'll take ownership of a diverse and high-quality portfolio, advising ambitious entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses and PE-backed groups across the full business lifecycle. You'll work directly with Directors and Partners, gaining early exposure to strategic decision-making while building the commercial and leadership skills required for the next step in your career.

The Opportunity

You will:

• Take responsibility for managing your own portfolio, including client onboarding, engagement control, billing and cash collection, with clear KPIs aligned to progression milestones.

• Lead on complex advisory assignments, including tax structuring and due diligence on buy- and sell-side M&A transactions.

• Deliver both Corporation Tax compliance and advisory services, leveraging shared service resources and technology-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency and margin.

• Proactively identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and generate new business, supported by senior leadership and a structured business development framework.

• Lead and develop junior team members through effective delegation, coaching and technical mentorship - building the leadership credentials expected at Director level.

• Manage risk appropriately, ensuring adherence to the firm's quality control standards and protecting both clients and the firm.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious tax professional who combines technical strength with commercial awareness and leadership potential.

You will have:

• In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of UK taxation, with experience advising entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses and PE-backed groups.

• Strong M&A experience, including tax structuring and/or buy- and sell-side due diligence.

• A proven track record of managing a client portfolio with responsibility for financial performance and service delivery.

• Experience leading complex projects and resolving technically challenging tax issues.

• A genuine interest in developing people and contributing to the wider success of the team.

• Degree-level education and CTA and/or ACA qualification (or equivalent).
