Purchasing Administrator

Our client is a leading manufacturing organisation known for its commitment to sustainability and innovation. We are seeking a Purchasing and Transportation Administrator to join our client’s dynamic team at their head office in Tyseley, Birmingham. Day-to-day of the role:
- Raising and amending purchase orders.
- Progressing orders and addressing queries.
- Ensuring acknowledgements match order values.
- Managing direct deliveries to customers.
- Assisting in the administration of price negotiations.
- Providing general administrative support to the Purchase Department.
- Liaising with other departments (sales, warehouse, finance) to assist in related processes and queries.
- Coordinating transportation and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Overseeing the administration of logistics, including tracking shipments and managing inventory levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a purchasing role, with additional responsibilities in transportation, administration, and logistics.
- Excellent communication skills, confident, driven, and a logical thinker.
- Strong analytical, collaborative skills and calm under pressure.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the timber industry and related products is a plus.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; certification is ideal.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well within a team and under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Experience with modern purchasing ERP systems.
