Head of Rail Systems
Head of Rail Systems Location: Birmingham Based with some hybrid working and site travel (typically 2 days a week depending on business needs) Summary A leading international railway infrastructure contractor and operator, specializing in the design, construction, maintenance, and renewal of railway systems are looking to hire a Head of Rail Systems lead and manage the delivery of multidisciplinary rail systems across light rail projects within the Midland Metro Alliance (MMA) and Urban Portfolio, ensuring safe, compliant and integrated delivery of signaling, track interfaces, power and communication systems, from design through construction, integration and commissioning. The role ensures delivery to time, cost and quality, whilst maximizing value and maintaining alignment with company and client objectives. Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability Lead systems delivery across signaling, track interfaces, power and communication systemsDeliver works in accordance with program, cost and quality targetsManage integration across multidisciplinary systems and interfacesConstruction interface: coordinate with civils, highways and utilities in urban environmentsLead Testing & Commissioning and Entry into Service activities including FAT, SAT and integration testingLead on the provision of Entry into Service and Health and Safety File documentationManage risk, opportunities and change processesEnsure compliance with contracts, standards, safety cases and relevant legislationInterface with TfWM, operators and stakeholdersManagement of Systems teamDevelop and lead systems Supply chainDrive continuous improvement and lessons learnedAs you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements. Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time. Person Specification The job holder will have (summary of the type of experience, general capabilities, skills, knowledge, training requirements (e.g. PTS) the ideal person would have) Extensive experience in rail / light rail systems delivery, in complex turnkey projects, throughout all the phases of the project, from inception to construction, T&C and Handover.
