Aims of Job/Job Purpose
South & City College Birmingham is recruiting for Summer Enrolment Assistants (Casual) across all campuses to help manage the busy enrolment period. If you have strong IT skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach, we’d love to hear from you. This role offers hands-on experience working with our Information Services and Customer Experience teams this is to support the timely and accurate processing of learner enrolment records, ensuring compliance with college procedures and resolving issues as they arise.
As an Enrolment Assistant, you will support various aspects of the enrolment process, including Meet and Greet, Registrations, Call Centre operations, Learner Support Fund (LSF) assistance, IT support for student logins, as well as Confirmation and ID verification.
Opportunities for this role will be at the following campuses within SCCB.
Bordesley Green Campus, Digbeth Campus, Golden Hillock Women’s Centre, Hall Green Campus,

Handsworth Campus, Longbridge Campus.

Availability Requirements

  • You must be available on all weekdays
    from Thursday 20 August to Friday 11 September .
  • Minimum commitment: Thursday 20 August – Friday 28
  • Possible additional day: Saturday 22 August (subject to availability).
  • Potential extension: You may be asked to continue working for a further two weeks , from Tuesday 1 September to Friday 11 September.
  • Mandatory training: 1–2 paid training days will take place during the week commencing 10 August , and attendance is required .

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact for students and visitors during the whole enrolment period.
  • Assist students in completing the enrolment process accurately and efficiently, following college guidelines and procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service across all campus sites, maintaining a friendly and professional approach to ensure a positive enrolment experience for all students.
  • Handle enrolment-related enquiries via phone, email, and in person, providing accurate information and high-quality customer service. This includes answering inbound calls, making outbound calls, and ensuring all interactions are managed professionally, efficiently, and helpfully.
  • Guide students through the different stages of the enrolment process, ensuring eligibility criteria are met and supporting documentation is collected.
  • Verify student identification and enrolment details, ensuring compliance with college and funding requirements.
  • Input and update enrolment data with a high level of accuracy, supporting efficient reporting and record- keeping.
  • Work closely with the Management Information Services, Customer Experience, and Finance teams to support smooth and effective enrolment operations.
  • To carry out any other duties which may be reasonably determined by the Line Manager / Enrolment Management Team.

  • Support the safeguarding and promotion of students’ wlelfare.
  • Maintain confidentiality in relation to all College information and to comply with Data Protection Legislation.
