Our client, a thriving secondary school located in the heart of Birmingham, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-time Art Design Teacher to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide students, aged 11 to 16, in the exploration of various art forms and design principles. As the Part-time Art Design Teacher , you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and innovative lessons that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the students. You will be expected to create a stimulating learning environment that encourages experimentation, critical thinking, and a love for the arts.

The successful candidate will possess a strong academic background in art and design, with a relevant degree and qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience in teaching art at the secondary level is highly desirable, as is a deep understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.

In addition to your exceptional teaching skills, you will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in art education. The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community is also essential.

Our client values the contribution of their teaching staff and offers a competitive salary range of £140 - £180 per day, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate art and design lessons that align with the national curriculum
  • Provide individualised support and feedback to students to foster their creative growth and development
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing timely feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement cross-curricular art and design projects
  • Organise and oversee art-related school events, exhibitions, and competitions
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-equipped art classroom environment
  • Stay informed about advancements in art education and incorporate relevant techniques and technologies into your teaching practice
  • Contribute to the overall development and improvement of the art department
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree in a relevant art or design-related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching art and design at the secondary level
  • Excellent knowledge of art and design principles, techniques, and media
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Proficient in the use of art-related software, technologies, and equipment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in art education
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the overall success of the art department
