Real Estate Professional Support Lawyer
Real Estate Professional Development Lawyer | 7+ PQE | Competitive Salary | Leading National Law Firm | Birmingham | Hybrid Working | Full Time / Flexible BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading national law firm to recruit a Professional Development Lawyer (PDL) to support its highly regarded Real Estate practice. This is a permanent opportunity based in Birmingham, offering flexible and hybrid working. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior real estate solicitor to step into a strategic, non-fee-earning role at the centre of a forward-thinking and innovative practice. The role would suit either an experienced PDL or a senior fee earner looking to transition into knowledge, training and legal innovation. The Role Sitting within the Knowledge Management team, you will play a key role in supporting the Real Estate practice by driving technical excellence, sharing knowledge and embedding innovation across the team. Working closely with partners, fee earners and innovation specialists, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a key point of contact for technical queries within the real estate team
- Maintaining and developing the firm's precedent bank and know-how resources
- Designing and delivering training programmes, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Monitoring and communicating legal and regulatory developments in property law
- Supporting lawyers with complex technical and drafting queries
- Contributing to the development of best practice and consistency across the team
- Working closely with the innovation team to embed legal technology and AI tools into client delivery
- Supporting the digitisation of property processes and driving efficiencies in how legal services are delivered
- Producing internal updates, briefings and thought leadership materials
- Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales with 7+ years' PQE in real estate
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial property law and regulation
- Experience working within a real estate team in private practice
- A genuine interest in knowledge management, training and legal innovation
- Excellent drafting skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely
- Strong research skills and familiarity with tools such as Practical Law and Westlaw
- Confidence using legal technology and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
