Religious Studies Teacher

- Curriculum: KS3 & KS4 Religious Studies, KS5 Philosophy & Ethics
A secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Religious Studies Teacher to join their department from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term supply basis.
The role involves teaching Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4, alongside Philosophy and Ethics at Key Stage 5. You will deliver thought-provoking lessons that encourage discussion, critical thinking, and evaluation of different beliefs, ethical issues, and philosophical concepts.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and supporting learners in developing strong written and analytical skills in preparation for GCSE and A-Level examinations. The school is looking for a teacher who can engage students in meaningful debate while maintaining a structured and inclusive classroom environment. The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS or be an ECT
- Have experience teaching Religious Studies at KS3 and KS4, with the ability to support KS5 Philosophy & Ethics
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and the ability to facilitate discussion-based learning
- Have effective classroom management and communication skills
- Be committed to supporting student progress and academic achievement
