Caretaker
E quans is looking for a Caretaker to join our team working in Wheelers Lane Primary School, Birmingham B13 0SF . This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £26,728.21 per annum and benefits package.
Shift times
Monday to Friday 8 Hour Shift between opening hours 6:00am - 18:00pm
What will you deliver?
The Caretaker is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, care and availability of the education premises, including the building fabric, furniture, fittings, equipment and mechanical and electrical assets.

Experience
• Relevant continuous working experience of providing FM services including litter control and basic maintenance of buildings and associated plant and systems. (Essential)
• Experience of producing risk assessments & method statements. (Essential)
• Experience of premises upkeep and caretaking management within an educational environment. (Desirable)
Skills/Ability/Knowledge
• Demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety principles. (Essential)
• Able to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines. (Essential)
Acting as a key holder and responding to site access requirements
Education/Qualification
• GCSE / O Level Mathematics and English or equivalent. (Desirable)
• Relevant trade or vocational qualification. Desirable)
Personal Qualities
• Be sufficiently fit to be able to undertake caretaking duties. (Essential)
• Capable of working on own initiative with minimum supervision. (Essential)
• Able to work as a team player and pass on knowledge to others. (Essential)
• Possess good communication and customer care skills. (Essential)
• Flexible and willing. (Essential)
• Prepared to work out of hours as necessary. (Essential)
• Resident within 20 minutes travelling time from the school. (Essential)
