Supervising Social Worker (Hiring Immediately)
Liquid Personnel is recruiting a dedicated Supervising Social Worker (SSW) to join its client’s Fostering Service based in Birmingham. In this role, you will supervise foster carers, address safeguarding concerns raised by children’s social workers, and provide both emotional and practical support to foster families.
You will also play a key role in recruiting new foster carers, conducting assessments, and delivering training ahead of child placements. If you're passionate about making a difference in fostering, this could be a highly rewarding career path to explore!
- Maintaining Communication Supervising social workers ensure consistent communication among foster families, social workers, and the foster children. They conduct regular home visits, make phone calls, and keep all parties informed throughout the placement.
- Arranging Support Services They coordinate additional support for children, such as therapy or learning assistance, whenever necessary.
- Day-to-Day Assistance Supporting foster carers with meetings, report writing, and record-keeping is integral to their role. They also monitor each child’s progress in their placement and conduct required statutory visits.
- Facilitating Birth Family Connections Supervising social workers help manage and maintain contact between children and their birth families when appropriate, and support foster carers in handling the emotions tied to these interactions.
- Identifying Training Opportunities, they assess foster carers’ needs for further training, guiding them to enhance their skills, achieve personal goals, and meet high standards of care.
