Inquests Associate/Senior Associate (5+ PQE) - National Law Firm - Birmingham/Hybrid BCL Legal is pleased to be working with a highly regarded national law firm seeking an experienced Inquests Lawyer to join its established and growing Health & Care Regulatory team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer to join a leading specialist practice advising clients across the health, social care, education and public sectors. You will work on a varied caseload, handling both advisory and contentious matters, with a particular focus on supporting clients through inquest proceedings and related advocacy. The role offers the chance to work alongside a team of recognised experts on complex, high-value matters while continuing to develop your technical expertise, client relationships and business development skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied caseload of health, social care and regulatory matters
- Advising clients on both contentious and non-contentious issues
- Representing clients at inquests, Court of Protection hearings and Tribunals
- Building strong client relationships and supporting business development activity
- Contributing to the supervision and development of junior team members
- 5+ years' PQE
- Strong experience in health and social care law
- Experience advising clients in relation to inquests, including advocacy experience
- Excellent technical ability with a practical and commercial approach
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
