Year 4 Teacher - Birmingham

Marchant Recruitment
Birmingham

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Birmingham, starting ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for a Key Stage 2 teacher who is passionate about delivering high-quality lessons, supporting pupils’ academic progress, and fostering personal growth and resilience.

The school has a strong community ethos and a supportive leadership team that prioritises collaboration, innovation, and staff development. Teachers are encouraged to be creative and reflective, delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that inspire pupils to reach their full potential.

As a Year 4 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the curriculum, ensuring pupils consolidate their learning from lower Key Stage 2 while developing independence, critical thinking, and confidence. You will also create a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports both academic and social-emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the Year 4 curriculum

  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress effectively

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL

  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and high expectations

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

  • Contribute to planning sessions, staff meetings, and school initiatives

  • Support pupils’ personal, social, and academic development

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

  • Have recent experience teaching in KS2, ideally Year 4

  • Be confident delivering the full KS2 curriculum

  • Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be reflective, enthusiastic, and pupil-focused

  • Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

The school is located in Birmingham, with excellent transport links and a diverse, welcoming community. Staff benefit from a collaborative working culture, professional development opportunities, and strong leadership support. This is a rewarding role for a teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in Key Stage 2.

How to Apply

Please submit an up-to-date CV outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
