Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (3-bed EBD) | Moseley, Birmingham Salary: £45,000–£55,000 DOE

Contract: Full-time, permanent
We’re recruiting a Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed EBD children’s home in the Moseley area. This is a great opportunity to take on an established service with a strong foundation and Good Ofsted outcome, and to drive stability, culture, and outcomes for young people.
The role You’ll be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the home, ensuring safe, consistent, and therapeutic care that meets the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards .
Key responsibilities
- Lead from the front: create a calm, nurturing, high-performance culture
- Maintain and build on the home’s Good Ofsted rating
- Ensure robust safeguarding practice, effective risk management, and high-quality care planning
- Recruit, develop, supervise and retain a strong staff team (including rota planning)
- Oversee incidents, reflective practice, debriefs and learning to reduce risk and improve outcomes
- Build excellent relationships with placing authorities, social workers, IROs, education and health partners
- Ensure compliance: audits, Reg 44/45 readiness, policies, training, and record-keeping
- Manage budgets, resources, and day-to-day operations
- Significant experience in children’s residential care, ideally with EBD/complex needs
- Experience at Deputy Manager/Manager level (or ready to step up with strong leadership evidence)
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, regulations and Quality Standards
- Confident in safeguarding, staff development, and improving practice through QA/audits
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (required or willingness to complete within agreed timescales)
- Resilient, values-led, and able to create stability in a small home environment
- Competitive salary £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience
