A highly regarded Global Commercial Insurer with a reputation that proceeds them has a new opportunity to join them as a Senior Property & Package Underwriter in their Birmingham team.

As part of its expansion plans, it is seeking a Senior Property & Package Underwriter to join its underwriting team based in Birmingham.

This role has a strong emphasis on property insurance, and a proven background in property underwriting is essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting both new business and renewals. The role will involve the development and management of a high-quality portfolio, with a focus on growing key broker relationships and ensuring sustainable profitability.
You will have active engagement with a network of brokers and clients across the Midlands region and beyond. The ability to develop and maintain strong, professional relationships is critical to supporting new business generation and client retention.

In addition to portfolio management, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of underwriting strategy and may be involved in product development and broader business initiatives, both regionally and across the wider organisation.

This role is ideally suited to a senior underwriter with significant experience in property underwriting, seeking a new challenge within a dynamic and forward-thinking team. It may also appeal to an ambitious underwriter with a strong technical foundation who is ready to step up into a more senior capacity.

Key responsibilities include underwriting property and package risks, representing the company with professionalism to brokers and clients, identifying and developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong underwriting governance and compliance. The role may also include mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the ongoing development of team capability.

To be considered you will need to have a strong property underwriting background either at Senior Underwriter level or at a position where you are ready to step up to Senior Underwriter level.
