Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain a deep understanding of teaching support through:

• Assisting with the delivery and implementation of learning activities
• Evaluating lesson plans and suggesting improvements
• Leading small group and one-on-one activities independently
• Collaborating with teachers to deliver learning objectives
• Adapting to meet individual learner needs in a dynamic classroom environment

• Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
• Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
• Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
• Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
• Provide feedback to learners.

Training schedule

Shaping Lives develops, nurtures, and grows skilled educators, equipping them with the essential skills, confidence, and resilience to fulfil their own potential. Upon completion of this 18-month Apprenticeship, you will have obtained your Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship L3 Apprenticeship.
