The Shift Pattern
This role operates a rotating 12-hour days and nights shift pattern.
Days
During the first week of the days rotation, you will work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
During the second week, you will work Wednesday and Thursday only, again from 6:00am to 6:00pm, with the remaining five days off.
Nights
During the first week of the nights rotation, you will work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00pm to 6:00am.
During the second week, you will work Wednesday and Thursday only, from 6:00pm to 6:00am, with the remaining five days off.
The rotation then returns to days, providing regular blocks of time off throughout the year.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving plant, production equipment, services and site assets to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site equipment
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
* Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
* Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and problem solving
* Maintain engineering systems and CMMS records
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety and environmental standards
* Support production teams to maximise operational performance
* Participate in shift handovers and engineering meetings
* Maintain GMP and quality standards across the site
* Liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal departments when required
The Person
We're Looking for Someone With:
* Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role
* Strong electrical fault-finding skills
* FMCG, food manufacturing or wider manufacturing experience
* A proactive and solutions-focused approach
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* The ability to work independently and take ownership of issues
* Experience using CMMS systems (desirable)
* A practical approach to balancing reactive and planned maintenance
Essential Qualification
You Must Have One Of The Following:
Recognised Level 3 Engineering Qualification
GNVQ or equivalent engineering qualification
Electrical qualification
Relevant engineering degree
Candidates with overseas equivalent qualifications are welcome to apply, but qualification certificates must be provided for review.
