About the Role
As a Site Assistant, you will support the Site Manager in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, and maintained to a high standard. This role involves a range of practical tasks and responsibilities, helping to ensure the school site runs efficiently on a daily basis.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the opening and closing of the school site

• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school buildings and grounds

• Supporting health and safety checks to ensure compliance with school policies

• Monitoring and maintaining facilities such as lighting, heating, and security systems

• Setting up classrooms, halls, and outdoor spaces for school events and activities

• Supporting contractors during maintenance or repair work

• Ensuring outdoor areas, pathways, and play spaces are clean and safe

• Reporting maintenance issues and assisting with preventative upkeep

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience in facilities, maintenance, caretaking, or a similar role

• Be practical and confident carrying out basic repairs and maintenance tasks

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of health and safety practices

• Be proactive, organised, and able to work independently

• Have good communication skills and a positive attitude when working with staff and contractors

• Be reliable and flexible in responding to site needs

Previous experience working in a school environment would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided.
