DT Technician - Dudley, West Midlands - January 2026
A well-established and creative secondary school in Dudley is seeking a hands-on and organised Design Technology Technician to join its DT faculty from January 2026.
This is a vital support role, assisting teachers and students in preparing, maintaining and running the department’s workshops and equipment.
The Role
You’ll support the delivery of practical lessons across product design, resistant materials and graphics. Working closely with teaching staff, you’ll ensure that resources and machinery are safe, well-maintained and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons
- Maintain machinery such as saws, drills and 3D printers
- Monitor stock, order supplies and ensure safe storage
- Support students during workshop tasks and projects
About You
- Practical skills in woodworking, metalwork or similar crafts
- Knowledge of health and safety in workshop environments
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for supporting creative, hands-on learning
